SPORTS BREAKING NEWS: German bundlesliga to resume 16th May
After several months of global siege occasioned by the ravaging COVID-19, global activities appear to be springing up again, this some have described as an audacious step of victory over coronavirus that have killed thousands, as German Bundesliga will resume behind closed doors on Saturday 16 May.
The Bundesliga is the first European League to restart following Corona Virus shutdown of all sporting activities around the world.One of the games on the day of relaunch will be the derby between Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund. Champions Bayern Munich, who are four points clear at the top of the table,travel to Union Berlin on Sunday.Most teams have Nine games to play,with the final weekend of the season reschedule for 27-28 June 2020.
The German Football Association said the season would resume under strict health protocols that ban fans from the stadium and requires players to have COVID -19 testing.According to German Football Association around 300 people, including players, staff and officials, wil be in or around the stadiums during matchdays.lt would be recalled that the league has been suspended since 13th March ,clubs returned to training in Mid-April with players working out in groups.
