The umbrella body for youth organisations in Kogi State, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has sent words of appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for the recently constituted Ajaokuta Steel Presidential Project Implementation Team, the group made this known through a release made available to the press by the Chief Press Secretary to the State Chairman of the body, Abraham Damilare.
Mr Damilare praised President Buhari’s economic and industrial sense towards national development which Ajaokuta Steel represent, he lamented the criminal neglect of such a huge project by successive governments in the last four decades.

Kogi NYCN Boss Commends Federal Government on the inauguration of Ajaokuta Presidential Project Implementation Team.
The Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria-NYCN, Kogi State Chapter Comrade Alonge Femi Israel, has on Wednesday, 13th of April, 2020, commended the President Muhammadu Buhari’s led Federal Government Administration for the inauguration of the “Ajaokuta Presidential Presidential Project Implementation Team chaired by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.
The Chairman in his words described the inauguration of the team as ” a progressive move towards revamping the Ajaokuta Steel Industry in Kogi State “.
Comr. Alonge lamented that “the Ajaokuta Steel has for over four decades suffered a condition of economic unproductivity as efforts from previous administrations geared towards reviving it has all proven abortive”.
However, with the recent step of the federal government following the inauguration of this presidential team, the chairman has expressed optimism that the Steel plant will regain its economic productivity values not just to the Kogi State Government and the Federation alone but the world entirely.
While expressing satisfaction with already inaugurated Presidential Team, the Chairman also vowed to mobilize youths across to State to help in any way they can in supporting the team to bring out the best out of the Steel plant as the inherent benefits attached to the revival of the plant cannot be overemphasized especially as it will greatly make impacts in the lives of the Youths by filling sufficiently the vacuum of unemployment amongst them in the State.
“It is no more a hidden truth that Kogi State has been ranked the second most peaceful State in Nigeria according to Action-Aid. Therefore, the team should be assured of absolute security and overwhelming cooperation from the ends of the Youths in the State as well even as they carryout their tasks.”
The Council Boss stressed that “The setting up of the committee will further reduce drastically the need to compliment the difficulties being faced with the current challenges in the global oil industry”.
While appreciating President Muhammadu Buhari for his love and passion to bring to completion the Ajaokuta Steel Plant, Comr. Alonge expressed confidence that the Presidential Team will enjoy a perfect and highly conducive working relationship with the Kogi State Government under the leadership of the workaholic and very industrious governor, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello as this will be a dream come true to his administration, the people of Kogi State, Nigeria as a country and the World at large.
