APC governors break silence over Obaseki’s disqualification, says ‘we’ll emerge stronger’

Following the disqualification of their colleague to contest for Edo State governorship primary election, Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC have said despite the challenges, it is committed to peace in the party. 

The Governors while renewing their commitment to the party expressed confidence that it would come out of its current challenges stronger.

In a communique signed by the APC governor’s chairman, Abubakar Bagudu on Sunday at the end of teleconference meeting held on Saturday agreed to work to ensure strengthening fair and democratic internal party mechanism.

The communique titled, ‘Edo and Ondo States Governorship Election: Resolution of Teleconference Meeting of Progressive Governors’ read; “Progressive Governors held an emergency teleconference meeting on Saturday, June 13, 2020 and resolved as follows:

“Unanimously reaffirmed the commitment of all Progressive Governors to work for the unity of our party;

“Collectively agreed to work to ensure strengthening fair and democratic internal party mechanism for the selection of party candidates in all elections, especially in respect of Edo and Ondo States 2020 Governorship elections.

“Forum members are confident that the party will resolve all current challenges and emerge stronger.”
