As part of efforts to sympathise with the State Commissioner of Police over the death of his men killed in arm robbery attack recently, the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Mathew Kolawole has set up a 7-man panel to pay a condolence to the number one cop in the state.
Recall that no fewer than 8 people lost their lives in the recent Isanlu robbery attack, comprising 7 policemen and a civilian.
Also a prominent businessman Mr. Nicholas Ofodile was killed along Abuja-Lokoja expressway by suspected armed robbers.
The member representing Yagba East, Musa Jimoh Omiata had in a motion on insecurity drew the attention of the Assembly to the incessant attacks in the state.
Also, the member representing Kogi-koto, Abubakar Tanko Muhammed had moved motion on the incessant kidnapping and robbery Along Lokoja-Abuja expressway.
The house said the security problems in the state was worrisome describing the incessant kidnapping and armed robbery as unfortunate despite the measures put in place by the state government to arrest the ugly situation.
Mr Omiata said that the lack of security operatives in rural communities especially border communities made it easy for criminals to carryout their nefarious activities.
In a ruling on both motions the Speaker who described the Isanlu attack which left eight police officers and two civilians dead as sad blamed communities for not providing security operatives with relevant information about bad eggs and strange people in their area.
