A chieftain of All Progressives Congress in Kabba, in Kogi State, Elder Benjamin Olowodola has commended the APC-led government at the Federal and State levels for the effective collaborative efforts that has resulted in the award of contract for the construction of the almost elusive Bunu-Kupa Road.
Describing the road as strategic in the economic life of the villages around this axis, the philanthropist observed that approval of the project for construction by the federal government has restored his pride of political participation.
The Elder statesman who is reputed to be a community developer in a statement issued on Friday describes this decision of the federal government as timely and unprecedented to people of the benefitting communities who he said have been neglected for decades.
Elder Olowodola who has committed his wealth to the development of his people noted that he is excited because the long suffering and commitment to the APC is yielding fruitful results for the benefit of the masses.
“When the news of the federal executive council approval for the construction of the road came to me, it came as a soothing surprise and pleasant act that is timely as we come out of the scourge of coronavirus
“The best meaning that I can give to this good news is that government of President Buhari has the people of Kogi West at heart, I commend him seriously for that, I also commend our Senator who didn’t stop lobbying until the project came to fruition.
“My gratitude also goes to the Governor, Yahaya Bello for all the support he gave. The resultant effect is that a section of my people are seeing dividend of democracy which has a positive spiral effect on the entire people of Kogi State” the Elder statesman said.
Chief Olowodola however charged the communities around the road to own the project by giving all possible support to the contractor when construction starts. He also seized this opportunity to appeal to the Federal authorities to accelerate action towards the immediate take off of Kabba- Egbe- Ilorin road.
