The Bureau of the Board of Governors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) has raised a panel to review its Investigation Committee report on the allegation of insider abuse levelled against the bank’s president, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, by a whistleblower.
The three-man review panel is headed by former Irish President Mary Robinson and two others considered by the AfDB as “individuals with unquestionable characters.”
The development followed the charge of bias by a section of the non-African shareholders on the board, led by the United States, after the Investigative and Ethics Committee had concluded its work, and given Adesina a clean bill of health.
