NYSC DG hails corps member over donation of infrared temperature machines

The Director General National Youth Service Corps, Brig. Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim has commended a corp member, Mr James Shalom Fredrick for donating PPE to enable the service fight COVID-19. 

Mr. Frederick had donated infrared temperature measuring hand held machines to the FCT Secretariat of the NYSC during the passing out ceremony for 2019 Batch ‘B’ (Stream ii).

Handing over Certificate of Commendation to the passing out NYSC member on Wednesday on behalf of the DG, the FCT co-ordinator of the NYSC, Mrs Walida Siddique Isa expressed gratitude to Mr. Frederick over what she called exhibition of exceptional leadership and philanthropic roles.

She said the equipment will help the service in checking the body temperature of fellow corps members and staff of the secretariat as part of its contribution in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the DG, the outbreak of COVID-19 had disrupted the usual fanfare which among other things include parade match past during the passing out of corp members.

The DG through the FCT co-ordinator said, “During your service year, you have exhibited high sense of discipline and dedication in the discharge of your duties in your various places of primary assignments.

“Through this you were able to endear yourselves to your employers, host communities and the entire people of FCT”.

Mr. Frederick holds a B.Sc in Physics from Landmark University Omu-Aran, Kwara State.
