The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede has said when fully implemented, the Citizens Identity Data will serve as an advance form of identity solution.
He said this after the presentation of the Citizens Data Management and Harmonisation Report to President Muhammadu Buhari by the Chairman of the Committee Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola
According to Babandede, the new identity model will be easily accessible for service providers, adding that it will meet up with international best practices.
According to the Immigration boss, the new identification means works like the social security number in US and UK for the harmonization.
In a statement on by James Sunday, the Service Public Relations Officer, he Nigeria Immigration Service was foremost among agencies of government to advance towards digitilisation of identity data of citizens.
Babandede added that NIS will continue to adopt advance technology to ease facilitation of services rendered to the public.
He said the Technology Building at the NIS Headquarters is a Digital Information and Data hub where key digital solution will be deployed to meet the needs of government at all fronts.
