The ALASA of Ekinrin-Adde, Ijumu LGA, Kogi State, Chief (Hon) Olowo Cornelius has congratulated the Senator representing Kogi-West Senatorial District, Sen. Smart Adeyemi as he marks birthday today.
Hon. Cornelius said Distinguished Sen. Adeyemi has remained at the vanguard of using his privileges to leave a trail of human and infrastructural development, helping individuals and communities to realise and actualize their potentials.
In a statement made available to SGTV on Tuesday, Hon. Cornelius further extolled Sen. Adeyemi’s efforts and contributions in raising the bar of development in Okun land with his resources and time.
“Atari Ajanaku as you are widely known, kiise eru omode. My Distinguished, your natural self is such who does not like to be praise singed. I got to know you and your humanitarian community development efforts through Prince Olusola Akanmode, the Prince of Aiyetoro Gbedde who was a development fund mobilizer across Okun Land then.
“At every fund raising then, for over three years before you joined the murky waters of politics, it became a normal expectation of every Okun Towns and Villages to eagerly wait to hear what the then Smart Adeyemi, the National President of NUJ will send through Prince Akanmode to support their community development efforts, which then were usually in millions.
“DSSA, as we now know you to be, you have paid your price, even as at when you were not vested with the mandate of Okun or Kogi West people to represent them.
“All of this attributes and many more have helped in how you are perceived, both by your admirers and persecutors” he said in a goodwill message.
Describing him further as ‘the Moses of our time’ Hon. Cornelius remarked that the federal lawmaker has greater national task to perform, urging him to prepare his mind.
“Today on this auspicious occasion of your birthday, I make bold to reiterate that the reward for service is more service. As the Moses of our time, but with an exceptional grace of entering the promise land, prepare your mind for greater task. Kogi West has seen more of you, but Kogi State awaits your manifestation.
“The Holy book said, whoever is truthful in little shall be made a custodian of greater things, I therefore charge you to enlarge your heart, widen your capacity for the greater task ahead.
“Usually, God’s instruments don’t look like it at the beginning, Joseph never did, Moses never did, Gideon never did, David never did, even Jesus never did, none of these looked like the task and assignments ahead of them, but for every divine assignment, there is always a corresponding grace.
“It would have sufficed to just wish you a happy birthday, but as Okun people will say, “oro eetobi, amu obe amu bu, arun naa kaa mu hoo”.
“My Distinguished sir, happy birthday and many happy returns. May the years ahead of you be more peaceful, more healthy, more fulfilling, more service demanding, more prosperous, and more accomplishing, amen.” he remarked.
