Gov. Bello’s victory good omen for democratic advancement, Kogi restoration, says Omoluabi

Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Political Matters, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi has congratulated his principal, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on his victory at the Supreme Court on Monday.

Omoluabi says it is good day for all lovers of democracy in Nigeria and across the world, adding that the verdict of the eminent jurists of the Supreme Court is a masterstroke for the advancement of democratic ethos in the country.

Recall that a seven-man panel of the court led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad had on Monday affirmed governor Bello’s election in two judgments dismissing the separate appeal filed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) challenging the Governor’s victory in the November 16, 2019 governorship election in the state.

Reacting to the development, the governor’s aide observed that the judiciary has remained critical in deepening the root of democracy in Nigeria, saying the judgment is a reaffirmation of the will of people of Kogi.

“The eminent Justices of the apex court have demonstrated courage and honour by re-affirming the decision of a vast majority of the people of Kogi through the ballots.

“They have put to an end the distractive legal tussle against Governor Bello who secured his mandate with unassuming margin against his rivals.

“This is the opening of a new vista in Governor Yahaya Bello’s visionary leadership focused at position Kogi as a model for other states in security, education, wealth creation, commerce and industry, and technology.

“Accordingly, the aggressive urban renewable, economic revitalisation, massive job creation, rural electrification, Healthcare system renewal and numerous people-oriented programmes this administration has initiated will receive an intensive boom henceforth.

“His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello has always reiterated his commitment to welcome everyone on board in moving the state forward. This is an opportunity for all sons and daughters of the Confluence state who have the interest of our people at heart.

“I congratulate the good people of Kogi for their resilience and faith in their governor throughout this period of protracted legal tussle. Collectively we have won” Omoluabi said.

He further expressed gratitude to God for giving the Governor and his legal team the enablement to successfully defend the will of Kogi people.

He urged Kogites to continually offer support and prayers for the administration, expressing optimism that more gains await them.
