Irukera pride of Nigerian consumers, SSA Political extols FCCPC boss

Senior Special Assistant to Kogi Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on Political Matters, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi has congratulated the Director General Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) Babatunde Irukera as he marks birthday.

Omoluabi says Irukera is a pan-Nigerian who has used his Office to protect all Nigerians from undue exploitation, cheating and the devastating effects of fake and counterfeit products.

In a birthday message on Friday, the governor’s aide said Mr. Irukera has rejigged and brought vibrancy into the once comatose federal agency, describing him as pride of Nigerian consumers.

“To a distinguished son of Kogi soil, you rose to limelight on the crest of competence, hard work and commitment.

“Your birth is a blessing not only to the people of Kogi but Nigerians at large and indeed humanity.

“Your near 3 decades experience in the legal practice where you sufficiently garnered experience in transactions, civil right, regulatory work and government relations are obviously the backbone of the benefits all Nigerian consumers enjoy today.

“You came to FCCPC when market competition was at its lowest ebb. You took over when the rights of our people (consumers) were violated by the seemingly untouchable organizations with reckless abandon.

“The story is different today. In little above one year, Nigerians now have a voice courtesy of your reformatory drives. You have personally supervised the reversal of anti-competitive behaviour and Ill-treatment against our people by foreign companies.

“The chronicle of your achievements shall be a story for another. You have demonstrated that you are a courageous nationalist committed to the general good of our people. On this special day I, on behalf of my family celebrate you sir” Omoluabi said.

He also prayed God to continually give Mr. Irukera the willpower, courage and determination to fight the course of average Nigerian.

“May God Almighty give you abundant life and good health to press on in your service to humanity” he added.
