An APC leader and philanthropist in Kogi, Elder Benjamin Olowodola has congratulated the party’s chairmanship and councillorship candidates in the upcoming local government election in the state.
Olowodola says their emergence as flag bearers of the party in the December local government election is a manifestation of the people’s trust in them, urging them not to betray it.
In a release he personally endorsed on Tuesday, the APC stalwart noted that Kogi has occupied a front lead in democratic credentials by instituting a democratically elected leadership in the grassroot, advising the candidates to have the people as their cardinal agenda.
“I am delighted that our people have chosen you to stand as candidates of our party. Beyond any iota of doubt, this goes to show the depth of confidence they repose in you in the midst of thousands of others.
“You must demonstrate willingness and capacity to change the narratives upon your election at the polls. As patriots and progressives, the people’s welfare must be your cardinal objective.
“Our leader and dear governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has set the pace of effective, robust and inclusive governance in our state which I charge you to see as a standard.
“Undoubtedly, our party is not only popular but a brand which the people see as a ship of progress which has the potency of bringing them visible democratic dividends. As we expect your overwhelming victory, always be the good ambassadors of our great party as you have always been.
“It is my earnest prayer that God Almighty shall guide your footsteps aright and decorate you with the crown of honour” he prayed.
Olowodola also congratulated the APC in the state for the peaceful conduct of the primary election, urging all members to work in unison for the victory of the party.
