As the December 12, 2020 local government election in Kogi draws nearer, a chieftain of APC in the state, Hon. Ayodele Adeniyi has congratulated the chairmanship and councillorship candidates of the party.
This is even as he noted that their candidacy is overwhelming endorsement of the people’s support for them, urging them to exhibit readiness to serve in the interest of the people.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the former Kogi Savings and Loans Limited boss underlined how important the local governments and wards are in driving grassroot development.
“You have fought gallantly and emerged candidates of our great party. It is no time to relax but a period to intensify efforts to ensure victory at the polls.
“You are not oblivious of the fact that you are riding on the crest of our people’s mandate. The onus is on you therefore to reciprocate to their goodwill by making frantic efforts to meet their yearnings and aspirations.
“Effective performance will be a great value addition to efforts of His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello in driving grassroot development in all nook and cranny of Kogi.
“A true democratic culture is anchored on the inclusiveness of our communities, which you are part and parcel of. I therefore charge you to raise the flag higher to silence the doubting Thomases” Hon. Adeniyi noted.
He called on aggrieved members of the party to sheath their swords and support the party’s candidates, saying dialogue is an available window for resolution of internal disagreements.
