Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Political Matters, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi has congratulated the newly appointed Executive Director, Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN) Dr. Patrick Olu Adebola.
Omoluabi says his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari justifies the President’s preference for credible technocrats to drive various areas of the country’s economy.
The governor’s aide in a statement on Wednesday added that Dr. Adebola is a tested and trusted hand who will deploy his administrative dexterity to turn around the cocoa industry especially at a time the government has shown interest to diversify the economy away from oil to agriculture.
“President Muhammadu Buhari’s choice of Dr. Patrick Olu Adebola as the Executive Director CRIN is not just suitable but timely. This goes to justify how much of a preference our President places on young men and women who have distinguished themselves in their personal endeavours as technocrats.
“Again, at a time when all avenues are being explored to diversify the nation’s economy, cocoa as a vital cash crop is pivotal in this vision. The appointment of Dr. Adebola therefore is a square peg in a square hole. I have no doubt that the agricultural industry in the country, particularly cocoa will receive a new stamina in an effort to contribute to our country’s GDP” he said.
Omoluabi also wished Dr. Adebola a fruitful stay in office.
