Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi has stated that it’s suicidal for the Federal Government to be selling off assets to fund its budget.
He expressed that selling off assets is like selling off the future for the sake of the present, wondering “what will your children use tomorrow.”
The former Vice Presidential candidate in 2019, stated this on Arise TV’s Morning Show, on Monday.
During the interview, he also declared that it is clear to everyone that corruption is getting worse under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Obi made his view known in reaction to the 2020 Corruption Perception Index (CPI) rating by Transparency International which rated Nigeria very low in corruption.
“Is corruption getting worse in Nigeria? Yes, we don’t need Transparency International to tell us that,” Obi established this on The Morning Show.
