The Senator representing the good people of Kogi West, and Chairman Senate Committee on Aviation, Distinguished Senator Smart Adeyemi has said the news of the sudden departure of Professor Matthew Idowu Ajibero was not only shocking but equally devastating.
In his words, “Prof Ajibero was a statesman, a great intellectual, community leader, he is God-fearing and my great supporter, a devoted christan and a lover of people’s progress and development”.
The Senator acknowledged Late Ajibero as humility and simplicity personified, someone who distinguished himself as a refined technocrat and administrator, who’s two-term tenure as the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic restored and sustained discipline and dedication both among the students and management.
He described Prof Ajibero as one of the finest Owe and Okun patriots who sacrificed his time, resources and comfort to uplift a large number of Okun people through appointments, employment and school admissions. He reaffirmed that the footprint of the erudite scholar will remain indelible in the sand of time.
Finally, Senator Adeyemi, on behalf of himself and family, also on behalf of the entire people of Kogi West, condoles with the Ajibero family, Obaro of Kabba, the Owe community and the Okun nation. He encouraged all that is affected to take solace in the impressive legacy left behind by the deceased.
May God Almighty rest the soul of Late Professor Matthew Idowu Ajibero peacefully, amen.
