Nigeria’s first Commissioner for Art, Legendary singer and guitarist, Sir Victor Uwaifo is dead.

The death has occurred of Sir Victor Uwaifor, Nigeria’s popular musician and administrator earlier today.
A close source to the family authoritatively confirmed the news.

It was gathered that he died after a brief illness.

Sir Uwaifor, Nigeria’s first Commissioner for Art and Culture who is well known and self-styled as ‘Guitar boy’ celebrated his 80th birthday in March.

Uwaifo is a recipient of the national honors of award of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON).
