Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has decided to buy a house in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The entrepreneur began looking for housing in Dubai.
For the past few weeks, Abramovich has been searching for a suitable property on the Palm Jumeirah, a tree-shaped island with luxury hotels, high-end high-rise buildings and international restaurants.
Lawyers say that many Russian entrepreneurs are trying to move their assets to the Emirates. In addition to Abramovich’s business jet, planes of other businessmen from Russia were seen in Dubai.
Housing in the UAE has become more popular among ordinary citizens of Russia. Metropolitan Premium Properties came to this conclusion – according to their data, the number of real estate transactions in Dubai has quadrupled in two weeks. The greatest interest was noticed in the segment of real estate worth from 250 to 500 thousand dollars. Demand has grown not only for purchases, but also for short-term rentals.
