Kwara State Government has announced additional three cases of COVID-19 in the state.
The annoncement brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 14.
The Deputy Governor of the state, Mr Kayode Alabi who is also the chairman COVID-19 Committee disclosed this at a press brefieng in Ilorin.
He explained that one of the new cases was imported from other states, while two are contacts from previous cases in the state.
Mr Kayode said in order to prevent more imported case, the state government has deployed military personnel to man borders of the state, while police and other security agencies maintain their hold internally.
He also explained that the Governor has approved special allowances for all healthcare workers attending to COVID-19 cases in Kwara State.
On the gradual easing of lockdown, the deputy governor said government had earlier directed the production of 500,000 face masks which have started coming in in bits.
He said that mass distribution of over 40,000 face masks and sanitisers to markets, bus parks and transporters, hospitals, has started, as the distribution continue, after more production of the products.
Mr Alabi however advised kwarans to continue to keep and observe all prevention measures and advises earlier given, as the state is working hard to ensure that Kwarans are safe.
