COVID-19: Kogi Police Commissioner, JTT on Emergency Response to COVID-19 assure of free movement of food and Agric. product
The Kogi State Commissioner of Police who doubles as the Chairman of Joint Technical Task Team on Emergency Response to Covid-19 in Kogi state has promised to ensure free movement of food and all agricultural imputs within the state and to neighbouring states.
The Joint Technical Task Team, a creation of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development made the commitment at its inaugural meeting in Lokoja.
Speaking, the Chairman of the Joint Technical task team who doubles as the Commissioner of police in kogi state, Mr Ayuba Ede, said his team would do everything possible to ensure that the terms of reference as provided by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture are met.
He called on the internal security outfits of police, civil defence and the army to always allow free and unhindered movement of food stuffs, livestock and agricultural inputs such as fertilisers and herbicides to all parts of kogi state and neighbouring states as directed by the federal government.
The commissioner of police warned transporters to desist from flouting the federal government orders on restriction of inter-state movement by using their trucks to convey passengers.
He charged all the Joint task team members to work together to ensure the success of the assignment.
