The Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, was on Thursday appointed the head of the All Progressives Congress caretaker committee and chairman of the extraordinary convention.
The Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress-led by Buni will run the affairs of the party for six months.
The Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, disclosed this in an interview with State House correspondents at the end of the meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee.
While introducing Buni, the governor said after six months, the committee is expected to convene a convention that will produce new leadership.
The National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress has also been dissolved.
The decision was taken at the ongoing meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee based on the recommendation of the President, Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari’s new media aide, Bashir Ahmad, disclosed this on his Twitter handle.
He wrote, “Following the recommendation of President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress has been dissolved.”
