Group donates hygiene equipment to FG

A private sector organisation, Procter & Gamble Nigeria Limited (P&G) has made a donation of hygiene equipment to the Federal Government.

Presenting the items to the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Olorunnimbe Mamora, the leader of the delegation, Mrs. Temitope Iluyemi, a Senior Director (Africa), Global Governance, Relations and Public Policy stated that P&G has a relationship with the Ministry which spanned several years of supporting the development of health and hygiene programmes.

According to Mrs. Iluyemi, the organisation’s partnership with the Ministry also involves promoting immunization programmes with the United Nations, International Children, Education Fund (UNICEF) and others.

She stated that P&G has donated over 15 Million Vaccines in Nigeria through Federal Ministry of Health.

In a statement issued by the Director, Information & Public Relations, Olujimi Oyetomi, Mrs. Iluyemi further stated that her Company has donated millions of Diapers to Federal and State Governments meant to promote child health in Nigeria.

She added that the Tuesday, 15th September, 2020, donation which comprises 250, 000 Diapers to Federal Ministry of Health is to be distributed among the Child Health Departments of Federal Medical Centers.

The recipients include Federal Medical Centers (FMCs) at Jabi, Keffi, Lokoja and Ebute Metta in Lagos.

Receiving the items, the Honourable Minister of State for Health, Dr. Olorunnimbe Mamora expressed the gratitude of the Ministry to Procter & Gamble Nigeria Limited (P&G) for the various ways it has been supporting and collaborating with the Ministry in several areas especially in areas of immunization or achieving Better Child Health.

Dr. Mamora seized the opportunity of the presentation of hygiene equipment by Procter & Gamble Nigeria Limited to the Federal Government on Tuesday, 15th September, 2020 to thank the Company for collaborating with FMOH on vaccine-preventable childhood diseases, hygiene and sanitation as well as water supply.

The Honourable Minister of State said access to portable water reduces significant percentage of diseases particularly diarrhea thus, he said it is very appropriate to appreciate the support of P&G.

He extolled the products of the Company as coming handy in cleansing various sections in the health care centers: the toilets and other items.

“Thank you for showing all those concerns to humanity; we want to believe that ours is a partnership that works; so many people have come forward to support us in our fight against COVID-19, we do not take these support for granted; ours is a partnership that works – the partnership between Procter & Gamble Nigeria Limited and FMOH.”
