Federal Airport Authority Of Nigeria has banned two officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service from it’s airports.
They were banned for extorting N8000 from a 14 year old passenger. Mother of the passenger, a Chef, Imoteda , had complained about activities of the officials in February.
In a statement signed by its Acting General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mrs Faithful Hope-Ivbaze, says the allegations were investigated and discovered that Chef Imoteda claims were true.
The statement read” upon investigation, they found the allegations true, as the officers involved were identified with the help of footages on our CCTV cameras and cooperation from the Nigerian Immigration Service.
“The officers were made to refund the exact amount collected from the passenger. Their On Duty Cards were also withdrawn permanently and they have been banned from working in any Nigerian airport to serve as deterrent to others”.
In response to FAAN, Imoteda says she got a refund and multiple apologies from people, also commended guys at FAAN for being communicative through out the process.
