COVID-19: Kwara state receives FG Palliatives

Kwara State Government says it has received 1,800 bags of 50kg bags of rice and 700 pieces of 25litres of vegetable oil as its share of the Federal Government’s palliatives.

A statement issued by Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Rafiu Ajakaye says the palliatives were received by Secretary to the Government, Professor Mamman Saba Jibril, on behalf of the State Governor.

It commends the Federal Government for the gesture which it state is meant for the most vulnerable in the society as the world battles COVID-19 amid lockdowns.

The statement urges all to use the Ramadan period to seek God’s mercy, emphasizing that situation at hand shows just how vulnerable human beings are and the need to pray to God to save humanity from the pandemic.

It states that Dr Abubakar Suleiman who leads the federal government team, says the palliatives are being shared to the States on the order of Mr President for distribution to vulnerable groups in this time of global pandemic.
