COVID-19: AEDC donates palliative food items to Kogi State

Kogi state government has received donations of some food items from AEDC.

The food items include 400 bags of 12.5kg rice, 38 bags of 50kg beans, 50 litres of 20 jerricans red oil, 5 cartons of hand sanitizers and 24 bags of 12.5 kg garri.

Presenting the items, General Manager of the Company, Kogi region, Engineer Abdulmutalib O. Muhammed said the company was aware of government effort in containing the spread and reducing hardship caused by COVID-19, hence the need to provide some succour
as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.

The company also promised to upgrade the state emergency centre by providing a 33KVA line for the state.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Deputy Governor and Chairman, Squadron Committee on COVID-19, Chief Edward Onoja CIK, Special Adviser on Security Navy Commander Jerry Omodara retired appreciated the electricity distribution company for the gesture.

He noted that Kogi government had been proactive on the issue of COVID-19 through measures including sensitisation and initial lockdown in the state.

The Chairman appreciated health as well as security personnel and urged people to adhere to advisories on COVID-19 even as d state.
