SECURITY: Notorious bandits killed Police Inspector, injures another, abducted village head in Kaduna

A gang of armed bandits have killed a Police Inspector and one other at the Birnin-gwari expressway in Kaduna State.
The bandits were said to have ambushed the patrolling police vehicle on Monday at the late hour while returning to Birnin Gwari.
It was not ascertained the number of policemen in the vehicle while they were attacked.
A source and a senior member of the local vigilante in the area, Hussaini Imam, notified our correspondent that the late inspector worked at Buruku Divisional Police Station in Chikun Local Government.
Numerous villages in Chikun shares boundaries with the attacked Birnin Gwari town and usually experienced huge attacks by notorious bandits terrorising along the route.
Hussaini also said the bandits on Tuesday attacked another community an ally of Udawa town under Chikun along the highway and abducted a village head.
“After they killed inspector Dantani and injures some of his colleagues in the van on Monday late hour, the notorious bandits also visited another community close to Udawa and kidnapped the village head and killed some persons which one of the victim is known as Lado and kidnapped another five persons,” he expressed.
When called for information and confirmation, the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, assured to call our correspondent back but failed to call back as of the time of compiling this report.
