Police Dismisses two for assault in Osun state

 

The Nigeria Police Force, Osun state Command has dismissed two policemen for assaulting a woman, Mssrs Ikuesan Taiwo and Ibrahim Abass, both sergeants, were reported to have assaulted the woman at the popular Odoori market in Iwo, the photo and video of the incident also went viral previous week thereby putting the police for in public ignominy.

The viral video which caught the attention of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu necessitated that punishable action be taken against the unprofessional conduct of the dismissed men.

The Policemen were seen in the viral video beating the woman during a Covid-19 lockdown enforcement at the said community.
An action the police authority has severaly warned her men against, an orderly room trial was summarily conducted on the two eering policemen, the policemen were found guilty of all the charges, and summarily dismissed from the Nigerian Police Force.

The Nigerian Police has described its decision to dismiss the policemen as part of the Force’s measures to curb professional misconduct and engender accountability.

The State Commissioner of Police vows that, no human rights violations and abuse of powers would be tolerated.
