Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare has described the late Rashidi Yekini as one of the best strikers the African continent has produced on the Eighth Year Anniversary of his death.
According to the minister,he was a delight to watch during his playing days noting that he scored some of the most fantastic goals that left some GoalKeepers helpless.
Mr Dare said Rashidi Yekini will forever be remember as legend of football in Africa not just NIgeria.
Yekini,an all time highest goal scorer of the NIgeria Senior National Team making 58 appearances and scoring 37 goals for the team, passed away on 4th of May,2012 at the age of 48.
Also in Tennis , The Tennis lntegrity Unit says Egyptian Tennis Player Youssef Hossam has been banned from tennis for life after being found guilty of multiple match-fixing and other corrupt offences .
A Tennis lntegrity Unit investigation found that the 21year old had committed 21 breaches of anti corruption rules,between 2015 and 2019 and conspired with others to carry out a campaign of betting,related corruption at the lower levels of professional tennis.
Youssef,who was provisionally suspended from tennis in May last year,was found guilty to have committed 8 cases of match-fixing, 6 cases of facilitation gambling and 2 cases of soliciting other players not to use their best efforts.
He was also found guilty of 3 failure to report corrupt approaches and 2 failures to cooperate with a TIV investigation.
Youssef Hossam reached a career high singles ranking of 291 in December 2017 and is currently rank 820 in singles.
His Elder Brother,Karim Hossam was banned from tennis for life for multiple match -fixing offences in 2019
