Nasarawa state government has taken delivery of over thirty nine thousand bags of ruminant feed supplements and sixteen thousand blocks of mineral salt from the federal government for onward distribution to pastoralists to tame farmers herders skirmishes.
Recieving the items in Lafia, State Deputy Governor, Emmanuel Akabe said the items will be distributed in the next few days.
Doctor Akabe thanked federal government for the support, promising to ensure equitable distribution of the items.
He reiterated the resolve of government to continue to support farmers with farm inputs to boost food production and ensure food security.
State Coordinator, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Doctor Ofomata Ikechukwe explained that the distribution was to address shortages of forages and feeds among pastoralists and enhance food sufficiency in the country.
Items received from the Federal Goveenment, include over thirty nine thousand bags of ruminant feed supplements and sixteen thousand blocks of mineral salt.
