The House of Representatives on Thursday honoured the leader of the Inspector-General of Police’ Intelligence Response Team, Abba Kyari for distinguishing himself in effective service delivery to the Nigerian Police Force and the country.
Kyari, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, was invited in the chamber during Thursday’s plenary.
The invitation and honour came following a motion moved by the member representing Chibok Federal Constituency, Ahmad Jaha, on Tuesday.
The Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, paid glowing tributes to the police officer, whom he described as an intelligent man.
Abba Kyari has served in several states of the federation, including Adamawa in the North East and Lagos in the south West.
He has led teams of the Nigeria Police Force that recorded severaI successes in combating organised crime in Nigeria.
He was instrumental in the arrest of the notorious kidnapper known as Evans in Lagos and the capture of the deadly kidnapper White VAMPIRE in Owerri, Imo State.
He also led the team that arrested the suspected killer of the former Chief of Defense staff, Alex Badeh as well as the arrest of several Boko-Haram Commander’s including bomb makers and those responsible for the kidnap of the famous Chibok girls.
His team also arrested the Offa deadly bank robbery suspects in Ofa town in Kwara.
The robbers attacked 5 different commercial banks and murdered over 31 Nigerians including a pregnant woman, making it the deadliest bank robbery in Nigeria’s history.
