Count governor Bello’s SSA on Security out of Isanlu robbery, killing — Sen. Adeyemi

The senator representing Kogi West, Sen. Smart Adeyemi has said the Special Adviser to the State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on Security, Alh Taofiq Isah is not part of the robbery gang that killed about 8 people recently in Isanlu area of the State. 

The federal lawmaker said efforts to associate Alh. Taofiq with the crime is devilish.

In a release signed by his legislative aide, Chief Olowo Cornelius, Sen. Adeyemi added that the publication is handiwork of defeated enemies of the state, stressing that it is attack on the ruling APC.

“The Distinguished Senator Smart Adeyemi has frowned at the deliberate and wicked attempt to link the SSA Security to the Governor (Ijumu L.G.), Alh Taofiq Isah, with the gruesome Isanlu robbery that happened recently.

“Furthermore, he advised the general public to disregard the publication as it is the handwork of some disgruntled, defeated and frustrated enemies of Kogi State Government, stressing that the target of the false and malicious publication is not Alh Taofiq Isah alone but the entire APC as a party and government of Kogi State. He noted that the publication was unfair considering the enormous resources that the state and Local Governments in Kogi State has committed to security.

“The Senator implored the Kogi State Government and the Kogi State Commissioner of Police to do everything within their powers to unravel the perpetrators of the Isanlu robbery and bring them to justice. He also urged the Commissioner of Police to get to the root of the false publication and to ensure that the originators are made to account for their misdeeds.

“Finally, the Senator assured the people of Kogi West that the security, lives and properties are a top priorities of Kogi State government. Therefore, all hands must be on deck to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for our people. He concluded by saying that he and others in positions of trust will continue to partner with the governor of Kogi State to ensure that our people can go about their normal businesses without fear of attack and molestation.” the statement read.
