Gov. Diri dethrones Otuokpoti Paramount ruler, sacks CDC Chairman, Youth President over Commissioner’s Kidnap

Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri on Tuesday announced the dethronement of the Paramount Ruler of Otuokpoti community, in Ogbia Local Government Area, Chief A. C. T. Wongo while the Chairman of the Chiefs Council, Chief Rescue Abe, has been appointed Acting Paramount Ruler.

Also, the Chairman of the Community Development Committee, Mr. Azibalua Amon has been sacked and replaced by Mr. Jerry Offor in Acting Capacity.

Similarly, Mr. Emolem Igue has been removed as Youth President of Otuokpoti and replaced by Mr. Shadrach Afiemo.

This follows the abduction of the Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Federal Otokito by gunmen.

The governor who in company of the Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, received the Commissioner shortly after his rescue announced that no ransom was paid.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State, Mr. Ben Okolo, has declared four persons wanted in connection with the kidnap.

Those declared wanted are: Joshua Abi, Clergy Okio Mabinton, Azini and Gift Tebeda.
