Missing N19.63bn JAAC fund: Ihedioha has a case to answer – Imo Assembly, He squandered 20bn in 7 months, Imo state government

There is palpable tension and apprehension in the camp of the immediate past Governor of Imo state, Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha over the missing #19.63bn as the Imo state House of Assembly has joined in the process of recovery of the said fund, belonging to the Joint Account Allocation Committee overseeing sharing and disbursement of funds to local government areas in the state from the Federation account.

The development became a subject of public concern when a member representing Oru-east state constituency, Chiagozie Nwaneri moved a motion at the plenary to seek investigation into the matter by the House of Assembly.

Leading debate, the former Majority Leader noted that the said amount was too humongous and may have dealt a devastating blow on the state economy.

The lawmaker during the plenary called on the state government to, as a matter of urgency set up a probe panel to look into the allegation, insisting that whoever is eventually found wanting be handed over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for prosecution.

Meanwhile the government of His Excellency Sen Hope Uzodinma has asked the sacked Governor, Emeka Ihedioha to get ready to explain how N20bn state allocation under his 7months government was used and where they are spent.
